Another day
63As night falleth upon another day I see by the upcoming morning light that it is time to sleep. Yet today was another day; the difference is the details.
Woke up, got up, drank some cafe. Checked online job site for any new work orders. Nil. Balancing bills and current cash in this state of current unemployment. Did get unemployment check in mail today despite last last job that is paying for unemployment sending me a backstabbing email last week that offered three trick questions for a unskilled low pay temp job so when I said I was not interested since I am a certified tech looking for computer work again. They backhandedly reported to local unemployment office that I refused job. Being bureaucratic, the local office favors those that pay the benefits over the paid applicants so naturally they cut me off last week. But luckily a couple of days ago by the pick up of a phone I got a bureaucrat with a mind of its own and realized that the ex company was only trying to weasel out of paying their share by offering a non job instead of a real job. Actually I have dealt with these fellows before since I've worked three times having to use their company for a temp job that called me back a couple of times for a project that only lasted so long but when collecting unemployment last year during a lay off transition they pulled the same back stabbing corporate move and that time I had to deal with a mindless bureaucrat that caused appeals that took me to the local sixth district court where I stated in a written appeal that said company slandered my rep by out and out lying but of course the judge quickly dismissed the case and ruled in favor of the company since nowadays corporate rule even with puppet politicians but by the luck of the draw I got quick dismissal of said backstabbing tactics and the check came only a day late. At least this time the little guy won over the corporate but then again there is always next week. In the meantime from said online work order site did a job last week that lasted three days installing rack servers and got paid today for completion of job then a hundred for a computer side job so all of a sudden I have money in the bank until tonight I paid the mortgage and half of the annual property tax and a couple of bills and out of 1300 I got 50 left. I wonder if I will make another week; at least we have a house for another month though the lender is a fourth lender that bought out the loan with an ARM that goes up every six months that will have no mercy if I fall two months behind. In this golden age of extra costs and lets not make a deal at least I have another week before the pinch knocks at door.
One good thing tonight while looking at CNN saw and listened to an interview with Huckabee who said let's do away with the IRS and do a fair tax explaining that the difference is in the embedded tax costs and a few other things that he stated made me shift a little bit from there is no longer any hope in any politician doing the right thing since we are mired into a ever deepening mess that I thought well maybe with all these other clowns running he would be a one to vote for not that it will make a difference anyway in a system so corrupt far beyond the idealistic nature of our beginnings but somewhere there is always a glimmer of hope even when you are up to nostrils in quicksand. Thought it would be a time for Colin Powell since we need a good general in hopes of straightening out the other quagmire overseas that for the first time since Dr Strangelove I can see the people that would actually push all the nuclear buttons in place and there is nothing like us being right in the middle of it all. Maybe what we need is a military person with actual experience than chicken-hawks only in it for the profit to straighten out the mess we are in. But Powell doesn't seem to want to jump into the idiot fray of currently running politicians but at least Huckabee voices reform like the old and used up and over the hill McCain but we are a long way off from reason to rule.
Think I'll can it and go to sleep for another day approaches to see if I live through the rest of the day.
